Despite having punched Doflamingo and battled his string clone prior to this episode, Luffy’s last combat with Doflamingo in Dressrosa began in episode 723 of the anime and chapter 782 of the One Piece novel.
One of the most anticipated and expected bouts ultimately took place in episode 723 of the One Piece anime, titled “A Collision of Haki – Luffy vs. Doflamingo.” The Warlord, Doflamingo, was going to walk on and crush Trafalgar D. Water Law’s head. Fortunately, Monkey D. Luffy, the commander of the famed Straw Hat Pirates, intervened.
In this episode, Law seeks to avenge Corazon’s death by eliminating Doflamingo. Trebol attempts to help the injured Doflamingo by attacking Law, but Luffy stops him in his tracks with a kick. Doflamingo begins to recall events from the past, including how Law was once a spitting copy of him but was freed from hate because of Corazon’s generosity. Law deploys his Counter Shock strike on Doflamingo before backing away and collapsing.
Then, when they saw Doflamingo get up, Luffy and Law were shocked. He showed that he could use his skills to conduct little surgery within his body. Trebol uses his Sticky Chains to drive Luffy out of the path as the warlord approaches Law. Law was going to be killed by Doflamingo’s stomping and skull-crushing attack. Fortunately, Luffy was there in time to stop Doflamingo’s strike by using his foot to block it.
He struck Law once again, but Luffy successfully blocked it a second time. He then questioned Luffy about why he prevented him from murdering Law. This time, their Haoshoku Haki clashed and shook the ground under them. Trebol was astounded to see that Luffy also owned it.
Trebol spoke about their history and Doffy’s upbringing while the fight raged, claiming that Luffy could never beat Doffy since his upbringing had turned him into a demon, thus the nickname the Heavenly Demon. Trebol recalls giving Doffy the authority he wanted 31 years ago. Due to their status as World Nobles, a mob crucified Doflamingo and his family.
Donquixote Homing, his father, implored the lynching mob to murder him and spare his children’s lives, but his cries were ignored. Doflamingo lost it and erupted in a fit of rage and despondency. The shock and outburst served as a catalyst for him to reawaken his latent Conqueror Haki, which led to the dispersal of the crowd and the extinction of the fire that was burning underneath his family.
Later, when the first of the four revealed that he had used Haki and had been selected by heaven, Doflamingo stood behind Trebol, Vergo, Diamante, & Pica. Trebol handed Doflamingo a rifle and the Ito Ito no Mi, referred to as the String-String Fruit, and told him he could murder anybody he wanted.
Doflamingo was driven to murder anybody who had given him anguish, even his father. Later, Doflamingo shot and killed his father with the gun. Doflamingo, according to Trebol, is the worst kind of evil that is extant.
The conflict between Doflamingo and Luffy continues. Doflamingo responded to Luffy’s Armament Haki assault on the warlord by using his own Haki. Both of their Conqueror Haki then square off after exchanging blows. In this situation, Doflamingo outweighed Luffy by a significant amount, knocking him over the edge of the rooftop.
- Everyone was in awe of Doflamingo as he demonstrated the amazing abilities of his String-String Fruit, using it not just for battle but also for unexpected abilities like first aid and basic surgery.
- When Law’s life was in danger, Luffy bravely engaged Doflamingo in combat, starting a long-awaited and anxiously anticipated showdown that fans had been eagerly anticipating.
- A fierce and exciting conflict that would put their grit, resolve, and the boundaries of their individual skills to the test was set in motion by this encounter between the two strong individuals.
